Acupuncture
Our integrated approach incorporates both research-based and time-tested acupuncture treatments. Rather than taking a traditional disease-centered focus, we address the underlying causes of disease using a patient-centered approach addressing the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. Chinese medicinals and adjunctive therapies may also be employed.
Classes
Educational and energy classes inspire growth and community at Sun Acupuncture.

“Yoga allows me to open, to feel, to believe and trust in my own experiences. It teaches me to be flexible, to focus, to find strength and playfulness. A back injury and long-standing chronic pain drew me to a yoga practice. Here I found calm, connection to my body and no pain; a space I didn’t know existed. It was transformative and I was hooked. A journey of reconnection follows my current teaching style and philosophy – to connect with your body no matter what body or emotional state you live with including paralysis, brain injury or anxiety. My intention as a teacher is to allow you to slow down and connect inwardly with a sense of playfulness leading you to open to your true, authentic self. “
Life is a journey. Live your path in finding YOU!

Naomi Richman
Naomi Richman, L.Ac, has been practicing acupuncture and Traditional Medicine for over 20 years. She received her master’s degree in Acupuncture and Traditional East Asian Medicine from Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, CA in 2002. While still in school, she was recruited by Dr. Joseph Kim, a third-generation acupuncturist, to edit three books he had written on the philosophical underpinnings of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and on Korean Constitutional Medicine - a branch of East Asian Medicine. This information and experience gave her a foundational understanding of the complexity and elegance of the natural laws that are the basis for the practice of acupuncture and the other East Asian Medicine modalities.
Early in her career, realizing the profound need for an alternative health care model for children and their families, she founded Bee Well Kidz, the first-of-its-kind integrative pediatric and family wellness center in Los Angeles. At that time pediatric acupuncture was in its infancy in the United States and most acupuncture schools had limited (if any) pediatric acupuncture educational opportunities for their students. Having taken every advanced pediatric course offered in the US, Naomi travelled to South Korea to study pediatrics and gynecology at the prestigious Kyung Hee University Hospital in Seoul, South Korea. Upon her return, Naomi started teaching continuing educational courses in pediatric acupuncture and East Asian Medicine. She spent the next 15+ years treating children, teens, young adults, and their families in Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Las Vegas before returning to Minneapolis in 2015.
Shortly after her return to Minneapolis, Naomi was recruited by the Penny George Institute of Health and Healing at Allina where she spent the next seven years treating medically complex patients of all ages. During her professional career she has worked in concert with medical doctors, nurse practitioners, naturopathic physicians, osteopathic physicians, psychologists, chiropractors, homeopaths, and massage therapists, as well as physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists. She has treated thousands of patients from the very young to the young at heart. She uses acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary therapy, exercise therapy, and other lifestyle recommendations, as well as non-needle pediatric modalities to help patients center, balance, and achieve their health goals.
After 22 years of practice, she has joined Sun Acupuncture to return to her roots of treating children, teens, and their families in a warm and inviting private practice setting. She uses her knowledge and experience to help patients uncover their innate healing abilities and works with patients and families to find the techniques and tools that work best for their lives and lifestyles.
She lives in St. Louis Park with her sweet son Simon, their many furry family members, and a bearded dragon named Rex.
